Better Late Than Never Right?

Remember the Halloween swap I did with my friends?  Well we did a Christmas one too.  I've been meaning to post about it but I just haven't made the time until now.

This swap is a little different than the Halloween swap in that instead of just having 1 partner to swap with you have many.  This year we had 3 groups of 8.  Basically what you do is assign each person in the group a day and they make a craft for each person in their group.  We mail out the gifts all on a certain day so everyone receives all their gifts before the begin date.  On day one you open the gift from the person who was assigned the first day.

The fun thing about this swap is depending on how many people you have you get to open presents for days and days.  It's also great to see all of the creativeness and thoughtfulness in my little group of friends.

We post each day on a blog.  Here is a link to the blog so you can check out the other 2 groups.

Here are the eight gifts that we traded among my little group.

Day 1

Day 2

Day 4

Day 5

Day 6

Day 7

I was Day 8 so that's why there are a zillion pictures.

Pinterest Again

The big guy in the red suit brought Finley a "big girl" bike this year.  It's not the exact one he had his eye set on but she loves it.

It's seriously super tough to find a little girls bike that isn't covered in flowers, princesses, or is white and pink.  We figured since this was her first bike we weren't going to spend a ton of money on it either because we didn't know if she would even like it.

We finally found one that seemed to fit her personality.  It does have some pink on it but it also looks like a little bmx bike which I loved.

I also wanted to get her a little basket for it but couldn't find a cute one of those either.  So my solution was to head over to pinterest to see what I could find.  I came across this cute little basket tutorial on pinterest and decided to give it a try.

I think it came out pretty good!  It almost make me want to make a big one for my bike.

If you decide to make one there are 2 things I would suggest.  Make the seam allowance on the inner part of the basket a tan bigger than on the outer part.  I had a hard time fitting the inner part in without a lot of bunching.

I would also suggest putting the velcro strap up a little higher than she suggests.  Mine could probably have been a couple of inches higher.  The basket still works it just looks a little high to me.  No real biggie though.

365

Thanks to something my friend Stefanie posted the other day I decided to do the 365 photo challenge that has been going around.  The idea is to take a picture everyday for one year.

I did something like this a couple of years ago where I took a bunch of pictures everyday for 1 week.  The picture weren't anything specific just the goings on of our everyday.  It's great to look back on just the normal things that fill our lives and how fun and wonderful they really are.

So I've decided rather than post a picture here everyday I will post 7 pictures once a week.  Just a little snapshot into our little lives here.

Lots of New Hair Clips

I've been super busy making new hair clips for both my Etsy shop and Otto in Fullerton.

Here's a peak at what I made for Otto.  They get special "matching" sets.  Fun!

I made 15  individual clips for my Etsy shop.  Look how cute they are.

Head on over to Otto or my Etsy shop before they are all gone!
